■Features
- Metal catalytic converter has lower exhaust resistance and higher durability by using a low-density metal cell as opposed to the stock ceramic catalyst with a high density cell.
- Both the first and second catalytic converter have 150-cell metal core, which significantly reduces exhaust resistance.
- The catalytic converter has minimum size cell with an optimized ratio of precious metals to ensure both purification performance and exhaust pressure reduction, and has obtained an exhaust gas certificate from a third-party organization in Japan.
- The first catalytic converter can be fitted with a stock heat shield to prevent heat damage*.
- The pipe diameter is enlarged to D75mm (compared to the stock D70mm).
- Buffed and polished, all welding was done by TIG welding for best aesthetic appearance.

- As for the volume of sound, replacing only the catalytic converter does not make much difference in terms of numerical values, but the sound color will change to a higher pitch.
- In the comparison of frequencies when measuring proximity exhaust noise, the stock catalytic converter peaks at 400Hz, but the HKS METAL CATALYZER peaks at 500Hz, which means HKS catalytic converter produce a higher exhaust sound than the stock catalytic converter.
- When this product is installed in combination with the Super Turbo Muffler (31029-AT006), the proximity exhaust noise level is 88dB, which is well within the Japanese inspection standard value of 96dB.
- The sound characteristics are more emphasized at 500 Hz, and at the lower frequencies below 200 Hz, resulting in a more powerful exhaust sound.
